1. From the Throg's Neck Bridge (toll), bear right onto I-95 (New England). Proceed north, through the New York Thruway tollbooth (toll) and into Connecticut. Continue to Exit 48, I-91 North (approximately 1 hour).
2. Proceed north on I-91 through Connecticut (approx. 1 hour). Note: Enfield (Exit 48) is at the Conn/Mass border, which is the halfway point on the trip. The shopping center there has many fast food places and is a good place to stop for a bite to eat. Continue on I-91 through Massachusetts (approx. 1 hour), and into Vermont.
3. In Vermont, continue Northbound on I-91 for approximately 1/2 hour to Exit 6 (Rte. 103, Rutland). At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left onto Rte. 103. Several roads will branch off Rte. 103. Bear left at these forks. Continue on Rte. 103 for approximately 15 minutes to Chester, where Rte. 103 takes a sharp right turn (watch for the sign).
4. Continue on Rte. 103 for another 15 minutes, over the railroad tracks and past the Castle Inn on the right. Another 5 minutes into Ludlow where you will pass the Black River High School (on the right). The road will bear left at the Governors Inn (on the left ) and the Colonial Inn (on the right). The Lodge is on the left side of the street across the street from the Gazebo. You have passed the Lodge if you go over the bridge into the main part of town!

Alternate directions

1. Take the Whitestone Bridge (toll) directly to the Hutchinson River Parkway or the Throgs Neck Bridge (toll) to I-95 North to Exit 9, HRP. Proceed to the HRP/I-684 split, toward Brewster (about 20 minutes).
2. Take I-684 north (keep to left) to Exit 9E, I-84 East. Take I-84 east to Exit 51, I-91 North, in Hartford, CT (approx. 1 1/4 hrs). Pick up I-91 North at Exit 32 and continue from the middle of no. 2 above.
